   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Shut Down on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely powered off before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer on a low setting to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear cover. Pull gently to create a small gap between the back panel and the frame.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it around the perimeter. Carefully slice through the adhesive working around all four edges.

   Lift the rear cover

   Gently lift the right edge of the rear cover like a book cover. Do not pull it away completely as the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable is still attached.

   Disconnect the fingerprint reader

   Use a spudger to pop off the bracket covering the connector, then disconnect the fingerprint flex cable. Set the back panel aside.

   Unscrew the upper midframe

   Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard cover. Keep screws organized by size and position.

   Detach the upper midframe

   Insert a plastic opening tool under the edge of the upper midframe bracket. Pry up gently to unclip and remove it from the frame.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly

    Remove the Phillips screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing at the bottom of the device. Store these screws separately.

    Remove the loudspeaker assembly

    Pry up the plastic loudspeaker housing using a spudger. Lift it out of the frame and set it aside.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat edge of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket. This cuts power and prevents short circuits.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Locate the main screen display connector on the board. Pry the press connector up vertically to disconnect it.

    Heat the front display

    Apply uniform heat across the front screen edges using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the strong factory display adhesive.

    Attach suction cup to screen

    Place the suction cup on the lower glass surface of the display. Pull upward to generate a slight gap near the bottom bezel.

    Pry open the screen bezel

    Insert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the glass screen and the frame chassis. Take care not to damage the inner frame rim.

    Slice through display adhesive

    Slide the pick continuously around all four edges of the front display. Reapply heat if the adhesive offers strong resistance.

    Remove the damaged screen

    Feed the display flex cable out through the slot in the frame while lifting the panel. Lift the broken display free from the chassis.

    Clean the display frame

    Scrape away lingering adhesive remnants using a spudger and clean the frame with isopropyl alcohol. Ensure the recessed channel is flat and dry.

    Apply new display adhesive

    Lay down double-sided display adhesive strips along the top, bottom, and side frame borders. Peel off the protective backing strips.

    Thread the screen flex cable

    Guide the flex cable of the new display assembly through the slot in the front frame. Align the screen over the housing.

    Press new screen into place

    Lower the display glass flat onto the frame adhesive. Press firmly along the edges to seal the screen securely.

    Reconnect the display flex cable

    Align the display cable connector with its socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place. Ensure it is fully seated.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery press connector over the motherboard terminal and press down until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker assembly

    Position the lower speaker cover back over the sub-board. Replace and tighten all retaining Phillips screws.

    Reinstall the upper midframe

    Place the upper plastic shield over the motherboard and snap the clips in place. Replace and tighten all saved Phillips screws.

    Reconnect the fingerprint flex cable, apply new rear adhesive strips, and press the back cover flush against the frame.

    Reinsert the SIM tray
