   Power off the Moto G60

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the card tray on the left side of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray, then remove it completely.

   Heat the rear panel

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to warm the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive underneath.

   Apply suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear panel. Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a tiny gap along the bottom edge.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created near the bottom edge. Do not push the pick in too deep to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back panel to cut through the adhesive. Reapply mild heat if the pick begins to drag or catch.

   Hinge open rear cover

   Gently lift the back cover off from the right edge, flipping it open like a book. Be cautious not to strain the fingerprint sensor flex cable still attached to the motherboard.

   Unscrew fingerprint shield

   Locate the small metal bracket covering the fingerprint sensor connector. Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the securing screw and lift off the bracket.

   Disconnect fingerprint flex

   Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight up from its socket. Set the rear cover aside.

    Remove midframe screws

    Unscrew all visible Phillips #000 screws securing the upper motherboard shield and midframe cover. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.

    Remove motherboard shield

    Insert a flat pry tool under the edge of the plastic motherboard shield. Pry up gently to unclip and remove it from the device frame.

    Disconnect battery flex

    Use a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery flex connector from the motherboard to cut power completely.

    Disconnect interconnect flex cable

    Pry up the main display and interconnect flex connectors that run across the top of the battery pack. Fold the loose cables back out of the way.

    Soften battery adhesive

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and side edges of the battery. Allow one to two minutes for the liquid to dissolve the strong glue underneath.

    Pry out old battery

    Insert a flat plastic spudger or wide pry card underneath the battery. Slowly lever the battery up from the frame, working carefully to avoid bending or puncturing the cell.

    Clean battery compartment

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery tray. Remove the top liner to expose the sticky surface.

    Place new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the recessed well, ensuring the flex cable lines up correctly with the motherboard connector. Press down evenly on the battery to set the adhesive.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Press the interconnect flex cable and the main battery flex connector firmly back onto their motherboard sockets until they snap into place.

    Reinstall motherboard shield

    Position the upper midframe shield back over the motherboard. Fasten all previously removed Phillips #000 screws to secure it in place.

    Reconnect fingerprint sensor

    Hold the rear cover close to the frame and plug the fingerprint sensor flex back in. Replace the metal securing bracket and tighten its screw.

    Reseal rear cover

    Apply new pre-cut adhesive perimeter tape to the frame, align the rear cover, and press firmly around all edges to secure the back panel.
