Power off the device

3 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the plastic rear cover and the screen assembly near the SIM card slot. Pry along the entire perimeter to release the plastic retention clips.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
2 minCarefully lift the rear cover slightly without straining the fingerprint sensor flex cable. Use a spudger to pop the fingerprint reader connector off the motherboard.

Remove lower speaker cover screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower plastic speaker housing to the phone frame.

Pry up speaker housing module
2 minInsert the flat tip of a plastic opening tool under the edge of the lower speaker assembly. Gently lift up to free the module from its recess.

Clean speaker contact pads
2 minInspect the contact pads on the daughterboard beneath the speaker. Lightly clean them using a swab dipped in high-percentage isopropyl alcohol.

Position new loudspeaker
2 minAlign the replacement Moto E7 loudspeaker module into the lower frame cutout. Press down firmly along the edges until it sits flush.

Secure speaker module screws
3 minReinsert and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws into the lower speaker housing until snug.

Reconnect fingerprint flex cable
2 minHold the rear cover near the chassis and press the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight down onto its motherboard socket until it clicks.

Snap rear cover onto frame
2 minAlign the back cover with the edges of the phone frame. Press down firmly around all edges until the plastic clips snap back into place.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into the SIM slot until flush with the side of the device.
