   Power Off the Phone

   Press and hold the power button on the right edge of the Moto E7. Select 'Power off' on the screen and wait for the device to shut down completely.

   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

   Soften Rear Cover Clips

   Apply mild heat from a heat gun or iOpener around the outer perimeter of the plastic rear cover for roughly 60 seconds.

   Create an Opening Seam

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the plastic rear cover and the display frame near the SIM slot.

   Release Rear Panel Clips

   Slide the opening pick along the perimeter of the phone to pop internal plastic clips loose. Carefully swing open the cover from the left side like a book.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor Flex

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector straight up off the motherboard. Set the rear cover aside.

   Remove Motherboard Shield Screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket cover.

   Lift Off Motherboard Shield

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the motherboard shield and gently pry it up to remove it from the device.

   Disconnect the Battery Cable

   Pry the battery press connector straight up off its socket on the top right of the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

    Remove Loudspeaker Screws

    Unscrew the Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the phone frame.

    Pry Up the Loudspeaker Module

    Gently pry up the bottom loudspeaker module using a plastic opening tool and set it aside.

    Disconnect Main Interconnect Cable

    Use a spudger to disconnect the main interconnect flex cable spanning over the battery, and fold it out of the way.

    Apply Alcohol to Battery Adhesive

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery to dissolve the factory adhesive underneath.

    Pry Up Old Battery

    Insert a plastic card or flat opening tool under the battery's edge and slowly lever it up off the chassis frame.

    Clean Battery Recess

    Wipe away any leftover adhesive or residue from the phone's aluminum housing using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

    Install New Battery Adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new double-sided adhesive strips and align them onto the battery well inside the frame.

    Seat New Battery

    Lower the replacement battery into the frame at a slight angle and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect Interconnect Cable

    Align and press the lower end of the main interconnect flex cable onto the daughterboard connector until it clicks.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Align the battery flex connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down gently until it snaps into place.

    Secure Motherboard and Speaker Covers

    Reposition the top motherboard shield and lower speaker module, then reinstall all Phillips screws.

    Reconnect Fingerprint Sensor

    Hold the rear panel close to the phone and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable onto its motherboard socket.

    Snap Rear Cover into Place

    Align the plastic back cover with the phone frame and press firmly around all edges until every clip snaps tightly shut.

    Reinsert SIM Card Tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left edge of the Moto E7 until it sits flush.
