Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to turn off the phone completely.

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray on the side and remove the tray.

Heat rear cover edges
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the perimeter of the back cover for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Unclip back cover
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, insert an opening pick, and slide around the edges to release the perimeter clips.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
2 minLift the rear cover carefully and use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the motherboard.

3 minUse fine tweezers to carefully lift and peel the power button flex cable away from the internal frame slot.

Position replacement power flex
2 minPeel the protective film off the new flex cable adhesive and align it into the side slot on the frame.

Connect power flex cable
2 minPress the power button ribbon cable connector down onto the motherboard socket until it clicks into place.

Reconnect battery flex cable
1 minAlign the battery flex connector over its socket and press firmly to reconnect power.

Reinstall top motherboard shield
3 minPlace the plastic motherboard bracket back over the board and secure it with the Phillips #00 screws.

Reconnect fingerprint reader
2 minHold the back cover near the phone body and snap the fingerprint sensor connector back onto the mainboard.

Press back cover on
2 minAlign the back cover over the frame and press around the perimeter until all plastic clips snap tightly into place.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the frame until it is flush.
