Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Power button on the right edge, then select Power Off on the screen to safely shut down the phone.

Eject the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject bit or paperclip into the small hole on the left edge of the phone to pop out the tray.

Heat the Rear Cover
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the rear cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for 2 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Create an Opening Gap
2 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a seam.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the seam and slide it around the perimeter of the rear cover to detach it.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minLift the back cover slightly and use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint reader flex cable from the mainboard.

Remove Lower Speaker Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker bezel.

Pry Out Speaker Module
2 minWedge a flat plastic spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing and lift it clear of the bottom frame.

Disconnect Antenna and Interconnect Cables
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to detach the white antenna cable head and the main ribbon connector from the sub-board.

Remove Old Microphone Sub-Board
2 minGently pry underneath the bottom daughterboard containing the primary microphone to unstick it from the frame chassis.

Install Replacement Sub-Board
2 minAlign the new microphone daughterboard into the bottom cavity of the chassis and press it down to adhere.

Reconnect Sub-Board Connectors
2 minSnap the main flex ribbon press-connector and the coaxial antenna wire head firmly onto the new microphone board.

Reattach Speaker and Rear Assembly
4 minReinstall the speaker cover, tighten all lower screws, reconnect the fingerprint ribbon, and press the rear panel firmly back into place.
