   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button on the side of the device until the power menu appears. Tap Power Off and wait for the screen to go completely dark.

   Remove the back cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch on the bottom edge of the phone. Twist gently to unsnap the rear plastic cover from the frame.

   Remove the battery

   Use your fingertip or a plastic opening tool in the notch at the bottom of the battery compartment. Lift the battery up and remove it from the phone.

   Unscrew the lower midframe

   Use a PH00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker enclosure over the sub-board. Keep these screws separate in an organizer tray.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Remove all Phillips screws holding the top midframe plastic bracket in place over the mainboard. Set them aside carefully.

   Remove the speaker enclosure

   Pry up the edges of the lower speaker assembly with a spudger. Lift the module off the phone chassis to expose the daughterboard.

   Remove the top midframe cover

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the top plastic motherboard cover. Pry gently to release the plastic clips and remove it.

   Disconnect the main interconnect cable

   Use a spudger to pry the flex interconnect ribbon cable straight up from its connector on the lower daughterboard.

   Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

   Place the tip of precision tweezers under the metal head of the antenna cable near the sub-board. Pry straight up to pop it off its socket.

    Pry up the old daughterboard

    Slide a plastic opening tool under the edge of the sub-board containing the integrated primary microphone. Lift it out of the phone body.

    Transfer the microphone rubber boot

    Peel the small acoustic rubber sleeve off the original microphone port using tweezers. Slide it onto the microphone of the replacement board.

    Position the replacement daughterboard

    Align the new sub-board into the lower frame cutout. Press down firmly around the board so it sits flush in the housing.

    Reconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Align the circular antenna cable head directly over the surface-mount socket on the new sub-board. Press down lightly until it snaps into place.

    Attach the interconnect flex cable

    2 min

    Position the main ribbon cable connector over the sub-board header. Press down gently until you feel a soft click.

    Reinstall the speaker housing

    Set the lower speaker module back over the sub-board. Press down on the perimeter until the plastic locking tabs snap shut.

    Reinstall the upper midframe cover

    Align the top plastic cover over the logic board. Press firmly on the edges to snap it into the phone frame.

    Secure all frame screws

    Reinstall the Phillips screws into the upper cover and lower speaker housing using your PH00 screwdriver. Tighten until snug.

    Reinsert the battery

    Match the metal contacts on the battery with the gold pins inside the phone. Lower the battery into the recess and press down.

    Snap the rear cover on

    Place the rear shell over the phone. Press firmly around all four edges until every clip clicks securely shut.
