Step-by-step

Power down the device

Remove the SIM tray

2 minTilt the rear cover open slightly and use a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable off the motherboard.

Remove the rear cover
1 minLift the rear cover completely away from the phone body and place it on your workspace.

Unscrew the speaker housing
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the six screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

Pry up the speaker module
2 minInsert the flat tip of a spudger under the notch of the speaker housing and gently pry it upward.

Remove the speaker module
1 minLift the damaged speaker assembly straight out of the phone chassis.

Clean the speaker recess
1 minInspect the lower housing for debris or dust build-up and clean it using precision tweezers or compressed air.

Position the replacement speaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker module into the lower cavity of the frame and press it gently into place.

Secure the speaker screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the six Phillips #000 screws to hold the loudspeaker assembly firmly.

Reconnect fingerprint flex cable
2 minHold the back cover near the chassis and press the fingerprint sensor cable connector straight onto its motherboard socket.

Snap on the rear cover
2 minAlign the back cover with the phone body and squeeze along the edges until all clips click shut.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until it sits flush.
