Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

1 minRemove the single Phillips screw holding the charging sub-board to the plastic frame.

2 minGently pry up the sub-board from its recess using a plastic spudger and place it on a heat-safe mat.

Apply Flux to Port Pins
2 minApply a liberal amount of liquid flux across the anchor legs and micro-soldered data pins of the damaged USB-C port.

Desolder Port Anchor Legs
4 minApply hot air with a heat gun or touch a hot soldering iron tip to the anchor pins to melt the existing solder.
