   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select power off to ensure the device is fully shut down before starting.

   Remove the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone and push inward to eject the tray.

   Create an opening gap in the rear cover

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear plastic cover and the screen assembly near the SIM slot.

   Unclip the back cover

   Slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter of the phone to disengage the internal plastic clips.

   Gently lift the back cover

   Tilt the rear cover open slowly, making sure not to strain the delicate fingerprint sensor cable attached to the motherboard.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use a nylon spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor press connector straight up off its motherboard socket.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic bracket over the motherboard.

   Remove the motherboard shield

   Use tweezers or your fingers to lift the plastic motherboard shield up and out of the frame.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Pry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard to safely cut power to the device.

    Disconnect the main interconnect flex cable

    Unplug the interconnect ribbon cable that runs over the battery, connecting the main board to the sub-board.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around the battery

    Dispense a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery to weaken the adhesive.

    Pry up the old battery

    Insert a flat plastic opening card beneath the edge of the battery and leverage it upward to break the adhesive bond.

    Remove the battery from the chassis

    Lift the battery out of the frame completely and set it aside on a non-conductive surface.

    Clean the battery cavity

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new adhesive strips

    Place pre-cut double-sided battery adhesive strips into the empty battery compartment frame.

    Install the replacement battery

    Set the new battery into the housing and press down evenly to secure it against the adhesive.

    Reconnect the interconnect flex cable

    Align and press down on the main interconnect ribbon cable connector until it snaps into place.

    Attach the battery flex connector

    Press the battery cable connector directly onto its motherboard socket until you feel a firm click.

    Reinstall the motherboard cover

    Position the plastic motherboard shield back onto the top housing and replace the retaining screws.

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable

    Press the fingerprint reader connector back onto its designated socket on the motherboard.

    Snap the rear cover back on

    Align the plastic back cover with the phone body and squeeze around the edges until all clips click shut.

    Reinsert the SIM card tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until flush with the body.
