Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom frame to pop out the tray.

Heat the back panel
2 minApply a heat gun evenly around the rear edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull up gently to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
3 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the seam to slice through the peripheral adhesive.

Separate and lift the back cover
3 minSlice around all four sides carefully, then lift the rear glass off the frame.

Unscrew the upper motherboard shield
3 minRemove the T3 Torx screws securing the top metal cover over the logic board.

Remove the top shield cover
1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal shield off the chassis and set it aside.

Disconnect the battery press connector
1 minPry up the battery flex cable using the pointed end of a spudger to cut power.

Disconnect secondary flex cables
3 minDetach the display, USB-C, and antenna connectors attached to the logic board.

Remove logic board mounting screws
2 minUnscrew the remaining internal screws holding the mainboard onto the frame.

Extract the logic board
2 minGently pry the main logic board up from the top corner and lift it out of the chassis.
