   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and either volume button, then slide to power off the device completely.

   Remove the bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

   Heat the display edges

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the bottom edge of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup to the screen

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display assembly, taking care not to place it over the curved edge.

   Slice the display adhesive

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick and slide it along the edges to slice through the adhesive.

   Open the display screen

   Swing the display open from the right side like a book cover, resting it against a sturdy object so it does not strain the cables.

   Remove the lower bracket screws

   Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal battery and display connector bracket.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

   Disconnect display and digitizer cables

   Pry up the display cable connector and the digitizer cable connector from the logic board using a spudger.

    Remove the display assembly

    Lift the display assembly away from the enclosure and set it aside in a safe, clean location.

    Remove the rear camera assembly

    Unscrew the camera bracket using a Y000 driver, disconnect the camera press connectors, and lift out the rear camera module.

    Remove the logic board

    Disconnect all remaining flex cables, remove the standoff screws, and carefully lift the logic board out of the housing.

    Heat the broken back glass

    Apply high heat from a heat gun across the broken back glass panel to break down the factory epoxy.

    Pry away broken glass shards

    Use a thin metal pry chisel and safety glasses to scrape away the cracked glass pieces from the frame carefully.

    Clean old adhesive from the frame

    Scrape off residual glue from the metal mid-frame using a precision blade and clean the surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply back glass structural adhesive

    Dispense a thin, even layer of B-7000 craft adhesive or position pre-cut adhesive film along the interior metal perimeter.

    Align and press the new back glass

    Carefully align the replacement back glass over the rear housing and press firmly across all edges to set the glue.

    Reinstall the logic board and camera module

    Place the logic board back into position, secure its screws, and reconnect the rear camera module bracket.

    Connect the display and test functionality

    Attach the display flex cables and battery connector, then temporarily power on the phone to test touch response and camera operation.

    Secure screen brackets and apply display adhesive

    Power off the device, apply fresh perimeter display adhesive tape, and reinstall all metal retaining brackets and screws.

    Close the display and install pentalobe screws

    Align the top edge of the screen, press down firmly around the edges until it snaps flush, and reinstall the two bottom pentalobe screws.
