Step-by-step
- 1
Unscrew the battery door
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to loosen the captive screw securing the battery compartment door on the rear of the GamePad.

Remove the battery compartment door
1 minLift the battery door away from the compartment and set it aside.

Disconnect and remove the battery
2 minUnplug the battery connector from the socket and lift the battery pack out of the bay.

Pry off the rubber screw covers
3 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to peel off the rubber screw covers on the back casing.

Remove the rear casing screws
4 minUse a Y0 Tri-Point screwdriver to remove the six screws securing the rear housing.

Separate the rear shell
2 minCarefully lift the rear shell straight up off the front assembly.

Disconnect the rumble motor cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to unplug the rumble motor cable connector from the motherboard header.

Unscrew the power board
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the power board in place.

Disconnect the power board harness
2 minGently disconnect the power cable harness connecting the power board to the main motherboard.

Remove the damaged power board
1 minLift the faulty power board module out of its alignment posts in the lower housing.

Position the new power board
2 minPlace the replacement power board onto the alignment posts inside the GamePad housing.

Plug in the power board harness
2 minConnect the wire harness from the new power board firmly into the motherboard socket.

Secure the power board screws
2 minReinstall the two Phillips screws to hold the new power board in place.

Reconnect the rumble motor cable
2 minPlug the rumble motor connector back into its motherboard header.

Reattach the rear shell
2 minAlign the rear shell over the body and press down gently until the edges snap into place.

Fasten the tri-point screws
4 minInsert and tighten the six Y0 Tri-Point screws around the rear housing.

Reapply the rubber screw covers
2 minPress the rubber screw covers firmly back over the screw recesses.

Reinstall the battery
2 minPlug the battery back into its port and seat the battery inside the compartment.

Secure the battery door
2 minPlace the battery cover back on the compartment and tighten the Phillips screw.
