Safety

Peel Off Rear Labels
2 minUse a spudger to carefully peel off the black stickers on the rear IO panel to expose the hidden screws.

Remove Outer Rear Screws
3 minUnscrew the two TR8 Torx screws securing the outer back panel to the frame.

Slide Off Back Shell
2 minGently slide the back plastic cover upward and lift it away from the console frame.

Remove Bottom Foot Screw
2 minUnscrew the single TR8 Torx screw located near the rear edge of the circular bottom base.

Detach Circular Base
2 minPry up the edges of the plastic bottom stand to unclip and remove it from the housing.

Unscrew Internal Frame Screws
4 minRemove the T10 Torx screws securing the internal fan housing and metal framework.

Disconnect Disc Drive Cables
3 minUnplug the power connector and ribbon cable from the optical disc drive board.

Lift Out Disc Drive

Unscrew Motherboard Frame
5 minRemove the remaining perimeter T10 Torx screws holding the motherboard assembly inside the metal chassis.

Extract Motherboard Assembly
4 minLift the entire dual-board assembly out of the outer metal chassis.

Separate Core Board Assembly
5 minCarefully disconnect the board containing the HDMI port from the main heatsink sandwich structure.

Apply Flux to Damaged HDMI Port
3 minDispense liquid soldering flux onto the ground legs and rear signal pins of the broken HDMI port.

Desolder Old HDMI Port
8 minHeat the anchor legs and signal pins evenly using a hot air rework station at 380°C until the solder melts, then lift the port off with tweezers.

Clean Motherboard Solder Pads
5 minApply desoldering braid and a soldering iron to clear leftover solder from the pads, then clean with isopropyl alcohol.

Solder New HDMI Port
10 minAlign the replacement HDMI port, tack down the ground legs, and solder each signal pin using a fine-tip soldering iron.

Reassemble Console Shell
15 minReattach the motherboard assembly to the heatsink, reinstall all internal components, and slide the back cover back into place.
