Beats Fit Pro Earbuds Not Showing in Find My
If your Beats Fit Pro aren't appearing in Apple's Find My app, a Bluetooth sync failure, stale iCloud session, or depleted battery is usually to blame. Here is how to restore location tracking.
Symptoms
- Beats Fit Pro missing entirely from the Devices tab in the Find My app
- Find My displays 'No location found' or 'Offline' while earbuds are nearby
- Only one earbud appears in the location map while the other is absent
- The 'Play Sound' feature hangs or fails to connect in Find My
- Location status shows an outdated position from days ago
- Earbuds drop off the Find My network immediately after closing the case
Quick troubleshooting
Step 1
Verify Bluetooth and Location Services
Ensure Bluetooth and Location Services are both toggled on in your iOS settings. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Find My, and confirm access is set to 'While Using the App' with Precise Location enabled.
Step 2
Charge both earbuds in the case
Place both Beats Fit Pro into the charging case and connect a powered USB-C cable for at least 20 minutes. Find My requires sufficient battery power to send Low Energy Bluetooth signals to surrounding Apple network devices.
Step 3
Force-close and refresh the Find My app
Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to enter the App Switcher, then swipe up on the Find My app to close it. Relaunch the app, select the Devices tab, and pull down on the list to force a network refresh.
Step 4
Unpair and perform a full Beats factory reset
Go to Bluetooth settings on your phone and forget the Beats Fit Pro. Place both earbuds in the case, leave the lid open, and hold the system button on the case for 15 seconds until the LED flashes red and white before re-pairing.
Step 5
Refresh your iCloud account session
Navigate to Settings > [Your Name] on your Apple device, scroll down, and tap Sign Out. Restart your device, sign back into your Apple ID, and place the Beats Fit Pro near the phone to re-link them to your iCloud keychain.
Likely causes
- Earbud or charging case batteries are completely depleted
- Bluetooth or Location Services disabled on the host iOS device
- Apple ID/iCloud account sync glitch across linked devices
- Outdated iOS, iPadOS, or Beats firmware missing network updates
- Earbuds stuck in non-iCloud Bluetooth pairing mode
- Corrupted network settings or stale Bluetooth cache on host device
- Physical hardware failure in the H1 chip's Bluetooth LE antenna
What's going on
Beats Fit Pro rely on Apple's integrated H1 chip to hook directly into the Find My ecosystem. Unlike standard Bluetooth accessories, these earbuds continuously broadcast Low Energy Bluetooth (BLE) beacons that nearby Apple devices pick up to update their location in iCloud.
When your Beats Fit Pro disappear from the app or stay stuck in an "Offline" status, the connection chain between your local Bluetooth radio, the iCloud device registry, and the H1 chip has desynced. In most cases, this is caused by a software handshake error or power state issue rather than permanent damage.
Symptoms people notice
- The earbuds are omitted entirely from the Devices tab in Find My.
- The app reports No location found even when you are actively listening to audio through them.
- "Play Sound" stays grayed out or spins continuously without triggering a chime.
- Find My only locates the left or right earbud, ignoring the secondary bud.
- Opening the charging case fails to prompt the pop-up pairing card on your iPhone.
Likely causes
- Depleted Battery: If the earbud batteries drop to zero, they cannot transmit location beacons.
- iCloud Session Mismatch: A temporary sync breakdown between your local device settings and Apple's backend cloud server.
- Location Services Disabled: System-level location permissions for Find My or System Services were turned off.
- Glutted Bluetooth Cache: Corrupted pairing data stored on the host smartphone or tablet.
- Corrupted Firmware State: An incomplete automatic background update hung the H1 wireless controller.
Quick checks first
Before executing deeper resets, run through these quick preliminary checks:
- Check the Case LED: Place the earbuds in the case and open the lid. If the status light doesn't illuminate, your case battery is completely drained.
- Toggle Wireless Radios: Turn Airplane Mode ON for 10 seconds, then turn it back OFF on your paired phone.
- Confirm Your Apple ID: Make sure your host device is signed into the primary iCloud account where the Beats were first setup.

When it's a real hardware fault
While software glitches cause most tracking dropouts, hardware issues can completely disable Find My functionality. If your Beats Fit Pro dropped into water, suffered a hard impact, or have corroded charging contacts inside the case stem, the H1 chip may fail to broadcast signals altogether.
Key indicators of hardware failure include an earbud that refuses to charge despite clean contact pins, an LED indicator on the case that never lights up, or an earbud that gets extremely hot while inside the case. If you suspect hardware degradation or are evaluating replacement options, read through our detailed audio device reviews.
Soft resets vs board/panel work
For micro-electronics like true wireless earbuds, repair approaches are strictly limited to software recovery and external maintenance:
- Soft Resets & Unpairing: This re-initializes the H1 chip firmware and rebuilds the encryption keys shared with Apple's Find My network. This resolves the vast majority of missing-device bugs.
- Internal Hardware Repair: Unlike larger headphones or home audio systems, opening a Beats Fit Pro earbud requires destroying ultra-sonic plastic welds and glued enclosures. Internal logic board repairs or chip-level micro-soldering are not feasible or safe DIY procedures.
If a full factory reset and clean iCloud re-pair fail to restore Find My tracking, the internal BLE radio on the earbud circuit board has likely failed, requiring unit replacement.
Next steps
Start by resetting your Beats Fit Pro using the case button and removing them from your Bluetooth list. Ensure your iOS device is updated to the latest software release, as Apple frequently pushes Find My stability patches.
