Power off tablet
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the touch screen.

Insert opening pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear case and the front bezel.

Unclip rear case
3 minSlide the pick around all sides of the frame to disengage the plastic retaining clips.

Remove rear cover
1 minLift the rear cover straight up off the tablet chassis and set it aside.

Disconnect battery connector
2 minUse a spudger to gently pry the battery cable plug straight up from its motherboard socket.

Unscrew battery
2 minRemove the four Phillips screws securing the battery to the internal chassis.

Remove battery

Unlatch digitizer connector
2 minUse the edge of a spudger to flip up the small zero-insertion-force (ZIF) locking flap.

Disconnect digitizer flex

Heat screen edges
3 minApply heat evenly along the front glass borders for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the top portion of the front glass.

Pry up glass assembly
2 minPull upward on the suction cup to create a gap and insert a thin plastic pick beneath the glass.

Slice perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide guitar picks along all four edges of the glass to separate it from the plastic midframe.

Lift old screen off
2 minTilt the screen assembly up and thread the digitizer flex cable out through the frame slot.

Scrape frame residue
5 minClean remaining glue from the plastic frame using isopropyl alcohol and a nylon tool.

Apply new adhesive
4 minPlace strips of double-sided adhesive tape along the entire perimeter of the bezel.

Thread new screen cable
2 minFeed the ribbon cable of the replacement glass through the midframe opening.

Press screen into frame
3 minAlign the glass with the outer bezel and press firmly around the perimeter to set the adhesive.

Reconnect flex cables
