   Power Down the Tablet

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Heat the Screen Edges

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply warm air around the outer edges of the display for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the factory display adhesive.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup near the top edge of the front glass and press down to create a firm seal. Pull upward gently on the suction cup ring to create a slight gap.

   Insert a Guitar Pick

   Insert a plastic guitar pick into the small gap created between the glass display and the metal frame. Take care not to insert the pick deeper than 3 millimeters.

   Slice the Display Adhesive

   Slide the guitar pick carefully around all four edges of the tablet to cut through the adhesive seal. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

   Open the Display Assembly

   Gently lift the top edge of the display screen and swing it open like a book cover. Lay it flat next to the body without straining the attached ribbon cable.

   Disconnect the Display Cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pop open the locking latch over the display connector socket. Disconnect the screen ribbon cable from the motherboard and set the display aside.

   Unscrew the Midframe Shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the inner midframe and motherboard protective shield. Store the screws carefully according to their locations.

   Remove the Plastic Midframe

   Insert a plastic spudger under the edge of the midframe shield and gently pry it up from the chassis. Lift the shield out of the tablet completely.

    Disconnect the Battery Cable

    Locate the main battery flex connector on the motherboard. Use the tip of a spudger to lift the connector straight up from its socket to cut power.

    Disconnect the Speaker Connector

    Locate the press-fit connector for the faulty speaker module on the motherboard. Pry the connector directly upward using your plastic spudger.

    Unscrew the Speaker Module

    Remove the Phillips screws holding the speaker module assembly into the tablet frame recess. Keep these screws separate from the midframe screws.

    Remove the Damaged Speaker

    Insert a flat plastic opening pick beneath the speaker housing and gently lift it out of its socket. Clean away any adhesive residue or dust left in the speaker chamber.

    Install the New Speaker Module

    Position the new replacement speaker module into the vacant frame recess and press it down flush. Secure it using the original mounting screws.

    Reconnect Speaker and Battery

    Press the speaker flex connector onto its mainboard socket until it snaps into place. Reconnect the battery connector in the same manner.

    Reinstall the Midframe Shield

    Place the midframe shield back onto the inner chassis and press down along the edges. Tighten all Phillips screws to fix the shield back in place.

    Reattach and Seal the Screen

    Plug the display cable back into its connector and lock the latch. Apply new pre-cut adhesive strips around the frame perimeter and press the screen firmly into place.
