   Power off the tablet

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the tablet is completely shut down before proceeding.

   Heat the screen perimeter

   Apply heat around the display edges using a heat gun on low power for two minutes. Warm adhesive weakens the seal binding the screen to the frame.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a heavy-duty suction cup near the bottom edge of the front glass panel. Firmly press it down and pull upward to create a slight gap.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Insert a guitar pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide the pick along the bottom edge to slice through the display adhesive.

   Separate side display adhesive

   Guide additional opening picks along the left and right edges of the frame. Keep pick depth shallow to avoid damaging internal flex ribbons.

   Slice the top adhesive

   Slide an opening pick across the top edge near the front camera. Ensure all adhesive bonds around the perimeter are severed.

   Hinge open the display

   Gently swing the display open from the right side like a book cover. Do not completely remove the panel yet, as cable connectors remain attached.

   Unscrew the display bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two screws holding down the metal display connector shield. Remove the shield with tweezers.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Pry the display flex cable straight up from the motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. Lift the screen panel clear of the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Lever the main battery connector up off the motherboard using the flat end of a plastic spudger. This cuts power to protect delicate internal logic circuits.

    Remove the sensor bracket screw

    Locate the optical fingerprint sensor housing near the lower middle frame. Remove the single Phillips #00 screw securing its metal retaining bracket.

    Remove the sensor bracket

    Use precision tweezers to lift the metal sensor bracket off the assembly and set it aside.

    Disconnect the sensor flex cable

    Unsnap the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from its socket on the mainboard with a plastic spudger.

    Pry the optical sensor module gently out of its mounting recess in the chassis using a plastic opening tool.

    Insert the replacement sensor

    Align the replacement fingerprint sensor module into the frame recess and press it flat into position.

    Align the flex cable over the motherboard socket and press down firmly until you feel it snap into place.

    Reattach the sensor bracket

    Place the metal retaining bracket over the new sensor module and tighten the single Phillips #00 screw.

    Snap the battery cable back onto the mainboard, reconnect the display cable, and reinstall the metal display shield with its two screws.
