   Power off the tablet

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully powered down before proceeding.

   Heat the display edges

   Use a heat gun or heating pad around the perimeter of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive. Keep the heat moving constantly to avoid screen discoloration.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a heavy-duty suction cup near the upper edge of the display screen. Press down firmly to create a strong vacuum seal.

   Create an entry seam

   Pull upward on the suction ring while applying pressure to the frame. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the glass and metal frame.

   Slice the display adhesive

   Slide the plastic opening pick carefully along all four sides of the device to cut the adhesive gasket. Insert additional picks in the corners to prevent the screen from resealing.

   Lift the display panel

   Gently pivot the display panel open from the right edge as if opening a book cover. Do not separate the screen entirely, as delicate ribbon cables are attached.

   Remove the connector shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal display bracket. Lift the bracket off with tweezers and set it aside.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Use a plastic opening tool to gently pop the display flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket. Carefully remove the screen and place it on a clean surface.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Put on your anti-static wrist strap. Pry up the main battery press connector from the motherboard to cut power to all components.

    Unscrew the sensor bracket

    Locate the optical fingerprint sensor assembly positioned near the bottom center of the internal frame. Remove the screws securing the sensor retaining bracket.

    Disconnect the sensor ribbon cable

    Use tweezers to lift the locking lever on the ZIF connector for the fingerprint sensor flex cable. Carefully slide the ribbon cable out of the connector.

    Remove the faulty fingerprint sensor

    Insert a plastic opening tool under the edge of the sensor module to loosen the light adhesive beneath. Remove the damaged fingerprint sensor module from the frame.

    Install the new fingerprint sensor

    Lower the replacement fingerprint sensor into the alignment recess on the frame. Insert the ribbon cable into the motherboard connector and flip the locking lever down.
