   Power Off the Tablet

   Press and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

   Remove the SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject pin into the tray hole located on the side of the tablet. Press firmly to release the card tray and pull it out.

   Heat the Display Edge

   Apply a heat gun or heated pad around the perimeter of the front screen for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the display to the frame.

   Attach Suction Cup to Screen

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass display. Press down firmly to create a secure suction seal.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a gap between the screen and frame. Slice a thin plastic pick into the gap.

   Slice Screen Perimeter Adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick around all four edges of the display glass to cut through the adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets strong resistance.

   Lift Display Assembly

   Gently hinge the display open from the left side like a book cover. Do not remove the screen completely as fragile flex cables are attached.

   Unscrew Display Cable Shield

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the metal shield over the display connector. Lift the metal shield off with tweezers.

   Disconnect the Display Cable

   Use a flat plastic spudger to pry the display flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket. Carefully remove the screen.

    Disconnect the Battery Cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off the mainboard using a spudger. Disconnecting power prevents electrical shorts during repair.

    Remove Motherboard Screws

    Unscrew the Phillips #00 screws holding down the internal protective brackets near the side buttons. Remove the metal brackets with tweezers.

    Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor Flex Cable

    Locate the fingerprint sensor and power button flex cable connector on the motherboard. Pry it straight up with a plastic spudger.

    Unscrew Sensor Bracket

    Remove the small retaining screw securing the fingerprint sensor module inside the side frame notch. Lift away the metal clip.

    Remove Damaged Sensor Module

    Pry the damaged fingerprint sensor and power button assembly out from its side frame housing using tweezers. Gently peel off any underlying ribbon cable adhesive.

    Insert New Fingerprint Sensor

    Align the new fingerprint sensor button module into the side frame opening. Press it firmly into place until it sits flush.

    Reinstall Sensor Bracket

    Place the metal retention bracket back over the sensor module and tighten the retaining screw. Check that the button has a tactile click.

    Connect Sensor Cable to Mainboard

    Align the flex cable connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.
