   Power down the tablet

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

   Heat the screen edges

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the display for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the strong adhesive securing the screen assembly.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass display. Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass and the body frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created beneath the display glass. Take care not to insert the pick deeper than 3 mm to avoid damaging display flex cables.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick slowly along all four edges of the screen to cut through the adhesive. Reapply heat with your heat tool if the adhesive becomes difficult to slice.

   Pry open the screen assembly

   Gently lift the top edge of the display screen and swing it open like a book cover. Do not pull the screen away entirely yet, as ribbon cables remain connected.

   Remove the display cable bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal bracket over the display connector. Set the bracket and screws aside carefully.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the display flex cable straight up from its socket. Set the detached screen assembly safely aside.

   Remove the battery connector shield

   Unscrew the Phillips #00 screws holding the protective metal cover over the mainboard battery connector. Remove the shield using tweezers.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger. Never use metal tools to disconnect active power terminals.

    Apply battery adhesive remover

    Drip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol or adhesive remover along the edges of the battery pack. Allow 2 to 3 minutes for the adhesive underneath to weaken.

    Pry up the old battery

    Insert a flat plastic card or wide spudger beneath the battery from the side. Slowly lever the battery up out of the recess without puncturing or bending it.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Wipe away residual battery glue and debris from the well using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Ensure the surface is dry before installing the new battery.

    Install the new battery adhesive

    Peel the backing strips from the new pre-cut battery adhesive and apply them firmly into the tablet frame recess. Remove the top protective film from the strips.

    Insert the replacement battery

    Align the new battery with the housing recess, ensuring the flex cable points toward the motherboard connector. Press down firmly across the top of the battery to set it.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the press connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down until it snaps in place. Reinstall the protective metal cover and tighten its screws.

    Reattach the display assembly

    Connect the display ribbon flex cable to the motherboard and secure its metal bracket with screws. Clean off old perimeter adhesive and apply fresh display adhesive tape.

    Seal the display

    Align the glass screen over the tablet frame and lower it into position. Apply firm, even pressure along all four edges to ensure a tight adhesive seal.
