Power down the Surface 3

2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a thin gap, then insert a plastic guitar pick under the glass edge.

5 minSlowly slide plastic opening picks around all four edges of the frame to separate the display adhesive.

Lift display panel
2 minGently lift the top edge of the screen like a book, taking care not to strain the ribbon cables attached at the bottom.

Disconnect display ribbons
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry up the press-fit connectors securing the display and digitizer cables to the motherboard.

Remove display assembly
