Step-by-step

Shut Down the Tablet
1 minPower off the Surface Pro X completely and disconnect all external cables or accessories.

Heat the Screen Edges
3 minApply heat along the outer perimeter of the glass using a heat gun for 2-3 minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the upper section of the glass screen near the edge and pull upward gently to create a gap.

3 minPeel the damaged power button flex cable away from the internal side frame using precision tweezers.

3 minAlign the new power button flex cable assembly into the chassis recess and press the switch firmly into place.

Reinstall Button Shield
2 minPlace the metal retaining bracket back over the button module and tighten the T3 Torx screws.

Reconnect Display and Battery
4 minReconnect the battery cable, snap the display ribbon back onto its connector, and resecure the metal display shield.

Apply New Display Adhesive
5 minClean remaining adhesive residue, place new custom adhesive strips along the frame perimeter, and press the glass screen firmly back into place.
