Step-by-step

Power off tablet
1 minCompletely turn off your Surface Pro X and unplug all external cables.

Eject SIM and SSD tray
2 minUse a SIM eject tool or paperclip to open the rear panel door and remove the SSD and SIM card.

Heat display edges
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the perimeter of the screen for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the top edge of the display screen and gently pull upward to create a small gap.

2 minSlice a plastic opening pick into the gap between the screen glass and the aluminum frame.

Connect charging port flex
2 minAlign and press down on the flex cable connector until it snaps into the motherboard socket.

Reinstall motherboard shield
3 minPosition the metal shield plate over the board and secure it with its T3 Torx screws.

Reconnect display cable
