Attach Anti-Static Strap
1 minPut on your anti-static wrist strap and attach the clip to a grounded metal object to prevent ESD damage.

Heat Upper Display Glass
3 minApply heat along the top perimeter of the glass for two minutes using a heat gun set to low.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup near the top corner of the screen and gently pull upward to create a slight gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a thin guitar pick into the gap under the glass, inserting it no deeper than 3 millimeters.

Slice Right Edge Adhesive
3 minWarm the right display edge and slide a second opening pick down to cut through the frame adhesive.

Slice Left Edge Adhesive
3 minHeat the left side of the glass and run an opening pick along the bezel to sever the adhesive bond.

Slice Bottom Edge Adhesive
3 minWarm the bottom edge carefully and pass a pick along it, stopping before the center cable area.

Open Display Glass
2 minGently hinge the display assembly upward from the top edge like a book, taking care not to strain bottom ribbons.

Unscrew Shield Cover
2 minUse a Torx T3 precision screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the metal display cable shield.

Remove Metal Shield
1 minLift the metal shield off the motherboard using plastic tweezers and place it in your organizer tray.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minPry the display press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic opening tool.

Unscrew Button Board Bracket
2 minLocate the button flex bracket near the top frame edge and remove the two securing Torx screws.

Remove Metal Bracket
1 minLift the metal retaining bracket away from the button switch module using tweezers.

Disconnect Button Cable
1 minFlip up the small locking lever on the ZIF socket and slide the button ribbon cable out.

Remove Old Button Assembly
2 minPeel the damaged button flex cable and switch contacts away from the inner aluminum housing.

Install Replacement Button Flex
2 minPosition the new button flex assembly into the chassis slot, insert the ribbon into the ZIF socket, and lock the latch.

Reattach Button Bracket
2 minPlace the metal bracket over the button module and tighten the two Torx screws securely.

2 minPress the display ribbon connector onto the motherboard socket until it clicks, then reinstall the metal shield.

3 minApply new pre-cut adhesive strips to the frame, align the display panel, and press firmly along all edges.
