   Heat the Display Edges

   Apply heat around the perimeter of the screen using a heat gun set to low to soften the display adhesive. Keep the heat source moving constantly to avoid scorching the panel.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass screen. Pull upward on the ring to create a slight gap between the glass and the outer aluminum body.

   Insert an Opening Pick

   Slide a thin guitar pick directly into the gap created beneath the front glass. Leave this pick in place to prevent the adhesive from cooling and resealing.

   Slice the Perimeter Adhesive

   Slide additional guitar picks along the top, bottom, and side edges to cut through the screen adhesive. Exercise extreme care near the top edge to avoid slicing the Face ID sensor array.

   Open the Display Assembly

   Gently swing open the glass screen panel from the right edge like a book cover. Do not pull the screen free yet, as fragile flex cables are still connected to the logic board.

   Unscrew the Logic Board Shield

   Remove the small Phillips screws securing the metal shield cover over the display and battery connectors. Store the screws in a organizer tray to ensure proper placement during reassembly.

   Disconnect the Display Cables

   Use a plastic spudger or prying tool to pop the display flex cable connectors straight up off their board sockets. Lift the screen clear and set it on a padded surface.

   Isolate the Battery Power

   Insert a non-conductive plastic card beneath the main battery contact point to disconnect power to the motherboard. This step prevents accidental short circuits during internal component replacement.

   Unscrew the Faulty Speaker Module

   Locate the target speaker module in the corner of the lower enclosure frame. Remove all Phillips screws retaining the speaker body and its grounding bracket.

    Pry Up the Speaker Unit

    Insert the flat edge of a plastic prying tool under the corner of the speaker housing. Carefully pry upward to free the module from the mild underlying frame adhesive.

    Disconnect and Remove the Speaker

    Disconnect the speaker ribbon cable from the motherboard trace. Lift the faulty speaker module straight out of the iPad frame and set it aside.

    Seat the New Speaker Assembly

    Lower the replacement speaker into the vacant corner cavity. Connect the press-fit ribbon connector to the board track and press down on the speaker body to stick it down.

    Secure the Speaker Screws

    Reinstall all retaining screws removed from the speaker assembly bracket. Tighten each screw until snug without over-torquing into the frame threading.

    Reconnect the Display Assembly

    Align and press the display flex connectors into their respective sockets on the board until they click into place. Position the metal shield plate over them and tighten its screws.

    Seal the Screen to the Frame

    Remove the battery isolation pick, apply new pre-cut display adhesive strips around the perimeter, and carefully press the screen flat down into the aluminum frame.
