   Power down the device

   Turn off your iPad Pro completely and disconnect any connected cables or accessories.

   Heat the display perimeter

   Apply a heat gun on low heat around all four edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Apply suction cup

   Place a heavy-duty suction cup near the top middle edge of the display assembly and press firmly.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam.

   Slice top adhesive

   Guide the pick along the top edge, keeping it inserted no deeper than 3mm to protect the Face ID sensors.

   Slice right adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick down the right side of the iPad to cut through the perimeter frame tape.

   Slice bottom adhesive

   Move the pick along the bottom edge, taking care when passing over the USB-C port section.

   Slide the pick up the left edge to release the last remaining side of display adhesive.

   Open display assembly

   Prop the display assembly open like a book from the left edge, resting it securely against a support block.

    Unscrew display shield

    Remove the retaining screws holding the metal logic board cover bracket using a precision screwdriver.

    Remove connector shield

    Lift the metal connector shield off the logic board with tweezers and set it aside.

    Disconnect battery connection

    Pry the battery connector away from the logic board socket using a plastic spudger to isolate power.

    Disconnect display cables

    Use a plastic spudger to pop the display and digitizer flex cable connectors straight up from the board.

    Lift the display panel off the enclosure entirely and store it face down on a microfiber cloth.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the outer edges of the battery cells to dissolve adhesive.

    Unseat adhesive pull-tabs

    Use tweezers to carefully peel back the black tips of the stretch-release adhesive strips on the battery.

    Pull battery adhesive strips

    Slowly pull each stretch-release tab out at a low angle until the adhesive strips slide out completely.

    Pry up battery

    Slide a wide plastic opening card beneath the battery cells to gently break any remaining glue bonds.

    Lift out old battery

    Gently lift the degraded battery out of the aluminum rear housing.

    Clean battery recess

    Wipe away leftover glue residue from the rear case using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Stick fresh adhesive strips to the underside of the replacement battery cell block.

    Install replacement battery

    Lower the new battery into the enclosure and press firmly to set it against the aluminum case.

    Reconnect display cables

    Align and press the display flex cable connectors into their respective sockets until they click.

    Reinstall display shield

    Place the metal cover over the connectors and tighten the screws to secure the display cables.

    Apply new perimeter tape, align the screen with the chassis, and press firmly around all edges to seal.
