   Heat the Display Edges

   Apply heat to the front perimeter of the iPad Mini 4 for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the screen adhesive.

   Attach a Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup onto the glass near the bottom edge of the device.

   Create a Opening Gap

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a thin gap between the glass and the aluminum frame.

   Slice the Front Adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap and slide it along the edges to cut through the display adhesive.

   Open the Display Assembly

   Gently swing open the display assembly like the cover of a book from the right edge.

   Unscrew the Display Bracket

   Remove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the display cable retaining bracket.

   Remove the Cable Shield

   Use tweezers to lift out the metal display cable shield from the logic board.

   Disconnect the Display Cables

   Pry the digitizer and LCD flex cable connectors straight up from their sockets using a plastic spudger.

   Separate the Display Screen

   Lift the display assembly away from the rear enclosure and store it safely.

    Unscrew the Battery Bracket

    Remove the single Phillips #000 screw holding down the battery flex connector bracket.

    Turn the iPad over and apply heat directly to the back of the case behind the battery area for 2 minutes.

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol under the edges of the battery to loosen the adhesive.

    Pry Up the Battery

    Slide a flat plastic pry card beneath the battery, slowly lifting to break the adhesive bond.

    Remove the Old Battery

    Lift the old battery out from the rear aluminum case completely.

    Clean Residual Adhesive

    Clean all leftover adhesive off the inside aluminum case using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

    Apply New Battery Adhesive

    Attach pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips onto the back side of the replacement battery.

    Set the Replacement Battery

    Position the new battery into the enclosure and press down firmly to secure it.

    Connect the Battery Flex Cable

    Align and press the battery connector straight down into its socket on the logic board.

    Secure the Battery Bracket

    Replace the metal battery bracket and tighten its Phillips #000 retaining screw.

    Snap the digitizer and LCD flex cable connectors back onto the logic board.

    Reinstall the Display Bracket

    Place the display metal shield back over the connectors and install the four retaining screws.

    Apply New Frame Adhesive

    Lay down fresh perimeter adhesive strips along the edges of the iPad frame.

    Seal the Display

    Lower the display onto the frame and press firmly around the edges to establish a solid bond.
