Power Off the iPad

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the top edge of the front glass and pull upward gently to create a thin gap.

Insert Opening Picks
4 minSlide a plastic guitar pick into the gap and slowly slice through the adhesive around the perimeter.

Protect the Touch ID Cable
2 minKeep picks shallow near the bottom home button area to avoid severing the fragile Touch ID ribbon cable.

Open the Front Glass
2 minGently swing the digitizer glass open from the left side, resting it like a book cover.

Remove LCD Corner Screws
3 minUnthread the four Phillips #00 screws located at each corner of the LCD panel.

Soften the Battery Adhesive
5 minApply high-percentage isopropyl alcohol along the edges of the battery or warm the rear casing with heat.

Pry Out the Old Battery
6 minSlide a wide plastic pry tool under the battery to break the adhesive strips, taking care not to puncture the cell.

Clean Casing Residue
4 minWipe away remaining adhesive strips and residue from the inner aluminum housing using isopropyl alcohol.

Apply New Battery Adhesive
3 minAffix fresh pre-cut adhesive strips onto the underside of your new replacement battery.
