Heat Front Glass Edges
5 minApply heat evenly around the perimeter of the glass for two to three minutes using a heat gun to soften the adhesive.

2 minPlace a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and pull upward firmly to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick under the glass edge once a small gap appears.

Fold Digitizer Open

3 minUnscrew the four Phillips #00 screws located at each corner of the inner LCD panel.

Pry Up LCD Panel

4 minRemove the Phillips screws holding down the large metal shield plate covering the logic board.

2 minLift the metal shield plate out of the housing to expose the logic board connectors.

Disconnect Battery Connector
2 minRemove the battery terminal screw and insert a plastic pick under the terminal to cut power.

Disconnect Display Cables
3 minUse a plastic spudger to pop off the LCD and digitizer ribbon cable connectors from the logic board.

Unplug Volume Flex Cable
2 minDisconnect the volume button flex cable connector from its socket on the logic board.

Unscrew Button Brackets
3 minRemove the Phillips screws securing the metal volume button bracket to the inner aluminum casing.

Peel Off Cable Ribbon
3 minUse tweezers or a spudger to carefully peel the volume button flex ribbon off the inside wall of the casing.

Install New Volume Cable
4 minAlign the replacement volume flex ribbon, fasten its bracket with screws, and reconnect the flex ribbon to the logic board.
