Heat the front glass perimeter
2 minUse a heat gun or iOpener around the edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the top edge of the front glass and pull up gently to create a slight gap.

Slice the edge adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it slowly along the perimeter to slice through the tape.

Fold open the digitizer glass
1 minGently swing the digitizer panel open like a book toward the right side, taking care not to strain the bottom cables.

Unscrew the LCD panel
2 minRemove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the corners of the LCD screen.

Lift and flip the LCD
1 minCarefully pry up the top edge of the LCD panel and fold it over onto the opened digitizer glass.

Remove the metal EMI shield screws
4 minUnscrew the sixteen Phillips #00 screws holding the large aluminum protection shield to the case.

Remove the EMI shield
1 minLift the aluminum shield out of the casing using a spudger and set it aside.

Disconnect the battery contact
2 minRemove the single screw securing the battery connector to the logic board and slip a plastic pick under the contact point.

Disconnect the display and digitizer cables
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pop the digitizer and LCD ribbon cables straight up from their sockets.

Remove the lower antenna screws
2 minUnscrew the small Phillips screws securing the antenna brackets near the bottom speaker enclosures.

Unscrew the speaker modules
3 minRemove the Phillips screws holding the left and right speaker assemblies to the lower frame.

Pry out the faulty speakers
2 minInsert a spudger under the speaker modules to break the light adhesive beneath them and lift both units out.

Install the new speaker modules
2 minPosition the new left and right replacement speakers into the lower recesses and press firmly to set them.

Secure the speakers and antennas
3 minReinstall the Phillips screws to fasten the speaker assemblies and antenna brackets in place.

Reconnect display cables and battery
3 minSnap the digitizer and LCD cable press connectors onto the logic board, then secure the battery screw.

Reinstall the EMI shield and LCD panel
5 minReplace the metal shield with its sixteen screws, then fold the LCD down and replace its four corner screws.

Apply new adhesive and seal the glass
