Heat the front glass edges
3 minUse a heat gun or iOpener to warm the outer edges of the iPad Mini glass for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

2 minPress a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the glass digitizer and the aluminum frame at the top corner.

Slice the perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the pick carefully along all four edges to cut through the adhesive tape, taking extra care near the home button.

Pivot the digitizer open
