Step-by-step

Heat the Front Screen Edges
2 minApply a heat gun along the outer glass edges for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the bottom center section of the glass screen.

Slice the Bottom Adhesive
3 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick beneath the glass.

Slice the Side Adhesives
4 minSlide plastic guitar picks along the left and right edges to cut through the display adhesive tape.

Slice the Top Edge
3 minCarefully slice along the top edge, inserting the pick no deeper than 2 mm near the camera assembly.

Open the Display Assembly
2 minGently swing the screen open from the right side like a book cover.

Remove Display Shield Screws
2 minUnbolt the Phillips screws securing the metal display cable shield to the logic board.

Detach the Display Shield
1 minLift the metal display shield out of the casing using precision tweezers.

Disconnect the Battery Flex

2 minDisconnect the USB-C charging port flex cable near the bottom of the board.

Remove Logic Board Screws
3 minUnscrew all Phillips and standoff screws securing the logic board to the aluminum rear housing.

Warm the Rear Housing
2 minApply heat to the back of the aluminum case behind the logic board for 90 seconds.

Pry Up the Logic Board
3 minInsert a plastic spudger under the edges of the logic board and carefully lift it out.
