Heat the Front Assembly
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer edges of the front glass for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the screen, taking care not to place it directly over the Home button.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then slide a plastic guitar pick under the glass.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
5 minSlide the pick carefully around the edges to cut through the adhesive, keeping the pick shallow near the top right flex cables.

Pivot the Display Open
2 minGently lift the top edge of the screen assembly up and open it like a book to access the logic board shield.

Remove Display Shield Screws
3 minUnscrew the four Phillips #00 screws holding the metal display cable shield in place.

Remove Display Cable Shield
1 minLift the metal shield off the logic board using tweezers or plastic prying tools and set it aside.

Disconnect Display Flex Cables
2 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the three display flex cable connectors straight up from their sockets.

Pry Out Faulty Speakers
3 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath each speaker module and carefully pry them up from the housing.

Install Replacement Speakers
3 minAlign the new speaker modules into the bottom housing and press down firmly to set the adhesive.

Secure Speaker Screws
2 minThread and tighten the Phillips screws to hold the new speakers firmly against the chassis.
