Warm the display edges
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer perimeter of the front glass for 2-3 minutes. This softens the strong adhesive holding the digitizer to the frame.

Attach suction cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower left corner of the front glass near the bezel edge. Pull up gently to create a slight gap between the glass and the aluminum frame.

Insert plastic pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic guitar pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Keep the pick shallow to avoid striking sensitive internal components.

Slice perimeter adhesive
5 minSlide the pick carefully along the edges of the iPad to cut through the adhesive tape. Exercise extreme care near the bottom right corner where the digitizer flex cables are located.

Open the front digitizer
2 minGently hinge the glass digitizer open from the left side like a book cover. Prop it up securely so it does not pull or strain the flex cables along the right edge.

Unscrew the LCD panel
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four corner screws securing the LCD panel. Place the screws in a safe organizer tray.

Lift the LCD panel
