   Power down the iPad

   Press and hold the top power button until the power slider appears on screen. Slide the button to completely shut down the device.

   Heat the screen perimeter

   Apply heat evenly along the edges of the iPad glass for 2-3 minutes using a heat gun to soften the frame adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the top edge of the front glass and press down firmly to secure the suction seal.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup handle to create a tiny gap between the frame and glass, then insert an opening pick into the seam.

   Slice top edge adhesive

   Slide the opening pick slowly across the top perimeter of the iPad glass to slice through the adhesive layer.

   Slice side perimeter adhesive

   Work the opening pick down the left and right sides of the screen while keeping the pick shallow to avoid internal component damage.

   Slice bottom adhesive carefully

   Cut through the bottom adhesive strip while avoiding the bottom-right corner where the home button cable is located.

   Open front glass panel

   Gently lift the right edge of the front glass and swing it open toward the left side like a book cover.

   Unscrew LCD corners

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four corner screws holding the LCD panel to the aluminum casing.

    Lift the LCD display

    Insert a spudger under the top edge of the LCD display and carefully tilt it forward toward the bottom edge.

    Remove the three Phillips screws securing the metal shield over the battery and display connectors on the logic board.

    Use tweezers to lift out the metal connector shield and place it in a secure spot.

    Insert a plastic pick between the battery logic board contact and terminal pad to cut electrical power.

    Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pop the LCD cable connector straight up from its socket.

    Pry up the two digitizer ribbon cable connectors from the logic board to release the glass screen.

    Align and press the two digitizer connectors from the new front glass onto their logic board sockets until they snap into place.

    Reconnect LCD and battery

    Snap the LCD display ribbon into its socket and remove the battery isolation pick from the contact pad.

    Screw down the metal connector shield, lay the LCD flat, and secure its four corner screws.

    Peel the adhesive backing film, carefully align the new front glass panel over the frame, and press firmly along edges to seal.
