Heat front glass edges
3 minUse a heat gun or hairdryer along the outer edges of the front glass for two minutes to soften the frame adhesive.

Attach suction cup to display
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass panel above the home button and pull upward to create a slight gap.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide a plastic guitar pick under the edge of the glass where the gap formed to keep it open.

Slice display adhesive
5 minCarefully slide opening picks around the entire perimeter, keeping picks shallow on the bottom right to avoid damaging the Wi-Fi antenna.

Open digitizer panel
2 minGently hinge the glass digitizer panel from the left side outward like a book, leaving the ribbon cables attached at the bottom right.

Remove LCD corner screws
3 minUnscrew the four Phillips #00 screws holding the corners of the LCD screen inside the frame.

Fold down LCD panel
2 minLift the top edge of the LCD gently and flip it over onto the open digitizer glass to expose the internal shield.

4 minUnscrew the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the display cable metal cover and lift the shield out.

2 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pop the digitizer flex cable and LCD flex cable off the logic board connectors.

Remove speaker mounting screws
3 minUnscrew the Phillips #00 screws retaining the speaker assembly located in the lower right section of the case.

Pry up damaged speaker
2 minInsert a spudger under the speaker module and lift it free from the rear aluminum housing adhesive.

Insert replacement speaker
2 minAlign the new speaker module into the bottom right corner of the housing and press down to seat it.

Fasten speaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips screws to secure the new speaker assembly to the frame.

Reconnect display flex cables
3 minSnap the LCD cable and digitizer cable connectors firmly back onto their logic board sockets.

Reinstall LCD screen
3 minFlip the LCD screen back into the frame and secure it with the four saved corner screws.

Reseal display glass
4 minApply new adhesive strips along the frame perimeter and press the glass digitizer down firmly into place.
