   Heat the iPad Edges

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer along the outer borders of the glass panel to soften the factory adhesive underneath.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly near the top right corner of the glass screen to gain leverage.

   Create an Opening Gap

   Pull upward on the suction cup while pressing down on the aluminum frame to form a tiny gap between glass and bezel.

   Insert an Opening Pick

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created near the top corner.

   Slice Top Edge Adhesive

   Slide the pick gently along the top edge of the screen to cut through the adhesive seal.

   Slice Left Edge Adhesive

   Move the pick down along the left edge, leaving a secondary pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

   Slice Right Edge Adhesive

   Slice down the right edge carefully, inserting the pick no deeper than 3/8 inch to avoid damaging ribbon cables.

   Slice Bottom Edge Adhesive

   Cut across the bottom border, exercising extreme caution around the Wi-Fi antenna located to the right of the home button.

   Open the Glass Assembly

   Gently swing the digitizer glass open from the left side, resting it like a book cover.

    Unscrew the LCD Panel

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four corner screws securing the LCD display panel.

    Pry Up the LCD Panel

    Insert a plastic spudger under the top edge of the LCD frame and lift it slightly upward.

    Flip the LCD Panel Over

    Carefully flip the LCD panel downward so it rests face down on top of the opened digitizer glass.

    Uncover the LCD Connector

    Peel away the black piece of tape covering the LCD cable ZIF connector on the logic board.

    Disconnect the LCD Cable

    Flip up the thin locking flap on the LCD ZIF socket using a spudger and pull the cable straight out.

    Remove the LCD Panel

    Lift the LCD panel out of the aluminum housing and set it aside on a clean microfiber cloth.

    Disconnect the Digitizer Cables

    Flip up the retaining flaps on the two digitizer ZIF sockets and slide both ribbon cables out.

    Remove the Old Glass

    Lift the old digitizer glass panel away from the iPad frame completely.

    Scrape Residual Frame Adhesive

    Clean remaining glue and tape off the aluminum frame edges using isopropyl alcohol and a plastic scraper tool.

    Apply New Perimeter Adhesive

    Lay fresh double-sided pre-cut adhesive strips precisely around the inner ledge of the iPad bezel.

    Connect New Digitizer Cables

    Insert the replacement glass digitizer ribbon cables into their motherboard sockets and press down the lock flaps.

    Reconnect the LCD Cable

    Slide the LCD ribbon cable into its ZIF socket, press the lever down to secure it, and reapply the black protective tape.

    Reinstall the LCD Panel

    Place the LCD back into the frame and reinstall the four Phillips #00 corner screws.

    Peel Internal Films

    Remove all protective plastic films from the underside of the new digitizer glass and the top of the LCD.

    Seal the Screen Assembly

    Align the glass panel over the body and press firmly around all four edges to lock the adhesive into place.
