Heat the Glass Edges
3 minApply a heated pad or heat gun along the outer edges of the front glass for two minutes to soften the strong frame adhesive.

Insert Front Panel Pick
2 minPush a thin opening pick into the seam between the glass screen and aluminum bezel at the top right corner.

Slice Top Edge Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick slowly along the top perimeter to cut through the front glass adhesive.

Slice Right Edge Adhesive
2 minPass the pick down the right side of the iPad, keeping the pick depth under a quarter inch to avoid damaging internal components.

Slice Bottom Edge Adhesive
2 minCarefully cut along the bottom margin while keeping away from the delicate home button flexible cable.

Slice Left Edge Adhesive
2 minSlide the pick along the left edge, stopping well clear of the lower left corner where the digitizer cable sits.

Open the Front Glass

3 minDrip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol underneath each battery cell to break down the adhesive backing.
