   Power Off Device

   Press and hold the power button until the option appears on screen, then tap Power Off. Ensure the device screen is completely dark before starting disassembly.

   Eject MicroSD Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the microSD card slot hole on the top edge. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat Outer Rear Cover

   Apply a heated iOpener or low-temperature heat gun around the perimeter of the rear shell for two minutes. This softens the internal perimeter adhesive and clip tension.

   Insert Plastic Opening Pick

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the thin seam between the rear cover and the display frame. Pry gently to create an initial gap.

   Release Rear Shell Clips

   Slide the pick along all four edges to unclip the rear shell. Work carefully around the top edge to avoid damaging the internal flex cables.

   Separate Rear Cover

   Lift the rear cover straight off the chassis assembly. Place the rear cover on a flat, clean surface.

   Unscrew Motherboard Shield

   Use a precision Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal motherboard shield. Keep track of all screws for reassembly.

   Remove Motherboard Shield

   Grasp the motherboard shield with tweezers and lift it off the board. Set it aside safely.

   Disconnect Battery Connector

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to gently pop the battery flex cable connector straight up off its socket. This cuts power to the board and prevents electrical shorts.

    Disconnect Button Flex Cable

    Use a spudger to flip up the small locking lever on the button ZIF connector. Carefully pull the button ribbon cable straight out of the socket.

    Peel Up Button Assembly

    Insert fine tweezers under the button flex cable and gently peel it away from the frame. Remove the damaged button assembly completely.

    Position New Button Assembly

    Peel the protective backing off the adhesive on the new button flex cable assembly. Align the tactile switches into the frame recesses and press firmly into place.

    Connect New Button Cable

    Slide the ribbon cable end into the motherboard ZIF connector. Flip the locking lever down to lock the ribbon cable in place.

    Reconnect Battery Connector

    Align the battery connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down until it clicks securely into place.

    Reinstall Motherboard Shield

    Position the metal shield back over the main board. Thread and tighten all Phillips #00 screws until snug.

    Snap Rear Cover Closed

    Align the rear cover with the front housing and press down around all edges until the plastic tabs snap fully shut.

    Reinsert MicroSD Card Tray

    Slide the microSD card tray back into the slot until it sits flush with the top edge of the tablet.
