   Power off and remove SD card

   Press and hold the power button to turn off the tablet completely, then eject any installed microSD card from its slot.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the front glass bezel and the plastic rear cover.

   Release perimeter clips

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the device to unhook the internal plastic retaining clips.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear cover straight up off the chassis assembly and set it aside.

   Disconnect the battery

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

   Remove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the motherboard to the plastic internal frame.

   Gently lift the motherboard out of the frame and place it on an anti-static surface.

    Apply heat with a heat gun around the outer glass perimeter for two minutes to soften the factory display adhesive.

    Press a suction cup firmly onto the upper half of the front glass screen assembly.

    Slice perimeter adhesive

    Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap and slide an opening pick around the border to slice through adhesive.

    Remove damaged screen

    Lift the screen glass away from the frame while carefully feeding the flex cables through the chassis slot.

    Clean frame residue

    Scrape away remaining tape and clean the frame perimeter using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

    Apply adhesive strips

    Apply narrow double-sided adhesive strips along the entire outer perimeter of the plastic housing.

    Thread new screen cables

    Guide the ribbon cables of the new screen assembly through the pass-through slot in the frame.

    Seat the replacement screen

    Align the screen with the frame edges and press down firmly to secure it onto the fresh adhesive.

    Reinstall the motherboard

    Lower the motherboard into position, insert the flex cables into their sockets, lock the tabs, and tighten the four screws.
