   Power off the tablet

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely shut down before starting.

   Eject the microSD card

   Open the side slot flap and pull out any installed microSD card. Set it aside in a safe place.

   Unclip the back cover

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the screen frame and back cover. Slide the pick along the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the plastic rear shell straight off the chassis. Set the back cover aside.

   Disconnect the battery

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up off the motherboard socket. Do not use metal tools near the battery connections.

   Remove battery screws

   Unscrew the small Phillips screws securing the battery frame to the chassis. Keep track of each screw position.

   Remove the battery

   Lift the battery out of the casing gently using a flat spudger. Place the battery on a safe, non-conductive surface.

   Disconnect the LCD flex cable

   Flip up the locking ZIF flap on the LCD ribbon cable connector. Carefully slide the display ribbon cable out of its socket.

   Disconnect the digitizer cable

   Open the locking tab on the digitizer ribbon connector. Gently pull the touch sensor cable free from the board.

    Heat the screen edges

    Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the front glass for about two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the screen.

    Attach suction cup

    Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the front glass assembly. Pull up gently on the ring to create a small gap along the edge.

    Insert an opening pick

    Push a guitar pick or plastic pry card into the gap under the glass. Take care not to insert it too deep to avoid damaging underlying frame components.

    Slice perimeter adhesive

    Slide opening picks around all four edges of the tablet glass. Reapply heat if the adhesive becomes tough to slice.

    Lift the old screen

    Slowly hinge the glass screen open from the frame. Carefully guide the attached ribbon cables through the slot in the midframe.

    Clean frame adhesive residue

    Scrape off any remaining glue or broken glass bits along the frame bezel. Clean the surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

    Apply new adhesive strips

    Cut and lay double-sided adhesive tape along all four bezel edges of the interior frame. Peel off the protective backing strips.

    Thread replacement screen cables

    Guide the display and digitizer ribbon cables of the new screen assembly through the slot in the midframe. Align the screen carefully over the chassis.

    Seat the new screen

    Lower the screen onto the frame and press firmly around all edges to secure it to the adhesive. Ensure there are no gaps.

    Reconnect display and digitizer cables

    Insert the LCD and digitizer ribbon cables into their respective motherboard ZIF sockets. Lock the retaining flaps down securely.

    Position the battery

    Place the battery back into its compartment inside the chassis. Align the mounting screw holes with the frame.

    Fasten battery screws

    Reinstall and tighten the Phillips screws to secure the battery. Do not overtighten to prevent damaging the threaded standoffs.

    Plug in the battery connector

    Align the battery plug over the motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Snap back cover closed

    Align the back cover over the tablet frame. Press firmly along all edges until every clip snaps into position.
