   Power off the tablet

   Press and hold the power button until the shutdown prompt appears, then tap Power Off. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the microSD card

   Open the microSD slot cover on the side of the tablet. Use a fingernail or pick to press and release the card to pop it out.

   Insert opening pick into seam

   Pry a plastic opening pick into the seam between the back cover and the front bezel near the corner. Gently twist to open a small gap.

   Unclip the back cover

   Slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter of the tablet. Work around each edge to release all the plastic retaining clips.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the rear plastic cover straight up and off the inner chassis. Set the back cover aside in a clean workspace.

   Unscrew the motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 precision screwdriver to remove the screws holding the metal bracket over the motherboard connectors. Keep the screws organized.

   Remove the motherboard bracket

   Use precision tweezers to lift the metal shield bracket off the board. Store it with its corresponding screws.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Insert the flat end of a spudger beneath the battery connector pry tab. Pry straight up to safely disconnect the battery from the motherboard.

   Disconnect the digitizer cable

   Flip up the small locking flap on the digitizer ZIF connector using a spudger. Slide the ribbon cable straight out of the socket.

    Disconnect the LCD display cable

    Lift the locking flap on the main display LCD ZIF connector. Carefully pull the wide ribbon cable backward out of its socket.

    Heat the front screen edges

    Apply heat to the outer edges of the glass screen using a heat gun on low for about 90 seconds. Keep the nozzle moving to prevent screen scorch.

    Attach suction cup to screen

    Press a strong suction cup onto the heated front glass near the top edge. Engage the suction handle securely.

    Insert pick under glass

    Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap under the glass edge. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap.

    Slice around display perimeter

    Slide the pick along all four sides of the front panel to slice through the adhesive securing the display assembly. Reheat edges if resistance increases.

    Lift screen from frame

    Gently swing the glass assembly upward like a book cover. Do not force it open if any adhesive is still attached.

    Thread ribbon cables through slot

    Guide the digitizer and display flex cables carefully through the slot in the midframe. Remove the old screen assembly completely.

    Clean frame adhesive residue

    Apply 90%+ isopropyl alcohol to a microfiber cloth and scrape away old tape remnants along the inner frame shelf. Ensure a smooth surface.

    Apply fresh adhesive strips

    Cut double-sided adhesive strips to size and lay them along the perimeter frame ledge. Peel off the protective paper backings.

    Thread new screen cables

    Feed the ribbon cables of the replacement screen assembly through the midframe opening. Align the cables to prevent twisting.

    Align and press new display

    Align the replacement glass precisely within the frame borders. Press firmly around the perimeter to bond it to the fresh adhesive.

    Reconnect LCD display cable

    Slide the LCD ribbon cable completely into its ZIF socket. Flip the locking flap down to lock the cable in place.

    Reconnect digitizer ribbon cable

    Insert the digitizer flex cable into its dedicated ZIF connector. Push the locking lever down firmly to secure it.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Align the battery socket connector over the header on the board. Press down firmly until it snaps into position.

    Reinstall motherboard bracket

    Place the metal shield back over the board connectors and tighten the Phillips #00 screws until snug.

    Snap back cover in place

    Position the rear plastic case onto the chassis and press firmly around all edges until every clip snaps locked.
