   Remove microSD Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the card tray hole on the side of the tablet. Pull out the microSD card tray and set it aside.

   Power Off Tablet

   Press and hold the power button until the option appears on screen, then tap Power Off. Ensure the tablet is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Heat Bottom Screen Edge

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply warm air to the bottom edge of the display for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the glass to the plastic frame.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the glass near the bottom edge. Press down firmly to create a tight seal.

   Create Initial Gap

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup ring to lift the glass slightly from the frame. Insert a thin guitar pick or opening pick into the gap.

   Slice Bottom Adhesive

   Slide the pick slowly across the bottom edge of the tablet to cut through the softened adhesive strip. Leave the pick in place to prevent the glass from resealing.

   Heat Left Screen Edge

   Apply heat along the left edge of the display for about 90 seconds to loosen the adhesive.

   Slice Left Adhesive

   Guide a second opening pick around the lower-left corner and slide it all the way up the left side.

   Heat Top Screen Edge

   Warm the top perimeter of the glass with your heat gun for one to two minutes.

    Slice Top Adhesive

    Slide your pick across the top edge of the display. Keep the pick shallow near the front-facing camera to avoid damaging the sensor.

    Heat Right Screen Edge

    Apply heat along the right side of the screen assembly.

    Slice Right Adhesive

    Work the pick down the right edge of the glass until all perimeter adhesive is separated.

    Open Screen Assembly

    Gently lift the screen from the left side and swing it open like a book cover. Rest it beside the chassis without pulling on the ribbon cables.

    Unscrew Connector Shield

    Use a precision Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal shield over the motherboard connectors.

    Remove Connector Shield

    Lift the metal connector shield off the motherboard using tweezers and set it aside.

    Disconnect Battery Cable

    Insert a plastic spudger under the battery press connector and gently snap it up from the motherboard.

    Pry the main display flex cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a spudger.

    Use the edge of your spudger to pop the digitizer flex cable off its motherboard connection.

    Remove Old Screen

    Lift the damaged display assembly completely away from the chassis and place it in a safe area for disposal.

    Clean Frame Residue

    Apply isopropyl alcohol to a microfiber cloth and scrape away all old adhesive residue from the frame ledge using a plastic spudger.

    Apply Double-Sided Adhesive

    Cut and place double-sided adhesive strips along all four edges of the tablet's inner frame.

    Connect New Screen Cables

    Position the new screen beside the frame and press the digitizer and display ribbon cables into their motherboard sockets until they click.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly to re-engage power.

    Reinstall Connector Shield

    Place the metal shield back over the motherboard connectors and secure it with the Phillips screws.
