   Press and hold the power button until the shutdown prompt appears on screen. Tap Power Off and ensure the device is completely shutdown before starting work.

   Eject the microSD card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or small paperclip into the hole beside the microSD tray on the top edge. Push firmly inward to release and remove the tray.

   Heat the rear panel perimeter

   Apply a warm iOpener or hairdryer along the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens internal clips and light perimeter adhesive.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert the thin tip of a plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear cover and the display frame near a corner.

   Unclip the rear cover

   Slide the pick along all four sides of the tablet body. Twist slightly as you move to release each internal plastic retaining clip.

   Separate the rear cover

   Lift the rear cover straight up from the chassis assembly. Set the back panel aside in a clean workspace.

   Peel back electrical tape

   Use fine-tip tweezers to carefully peel back the black kapton tape covering the battery ribbon connector.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Wedge the flat tip of a plastic spudger beneath the battery flex connector. Pry straight up to disconnect it from the motherboard.

   Apply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery pouch. Wait two minutes for the solvent to weaken the strong factory glue.

    Remove the old battery

    Gently lift the lithium-ion battery out of the frame once fully unbonded. Do not puncture or bend the battery cell during removal.

    Clean the battery well

    Scrape remaining adhesive tape out of the frame using a spudger. Clean the metal surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol on a micro-fiber cloth.

    Apply new adhesive strips

    Peel the protective backing off new double-sided adhesive strips and press them firmly into the recessed battery cavity.

    Position the new battery

    Place the replacement battery into the cavity, ensuring the flex cable aligns with its motherboard socket. Press down on the cell body to set the adhesive.

    Plug in the battery connector

    Align the press connector directly over the motherboard socket and press down firmly until you feel it click into place.

    Reapply protective tape

    Lay the black protective tape back over the battery connector to prevent accidental shorting or disconnection.
