   Power off tablet

   Press and hold the power button until the shut-down prompt appears. Tap Power Off to completely shut down the device.

   Remove microSD card

   Open the microSD port flap on the upper side of the casing. Push the card in to release it, then pull it out of the slot.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the small seam between the screen assembly and the rear plastic shell.

   Unclip top edge

   Slide the pick across the top edge of the frame to release the internal plastic retaining clips.

   Pry left side clips

   Work the opening pick down the left edge of the frame to unhook the perimeter tabs.

   Pry right side clips

   Slide the tool down the right edge near the volume buttons to free the remaining side clips.

   Unclip bottom edge

   Pry gently along the bottom edge near the micro-USB port to separate the final snap tabs.

   Remove rear casing

   Lift the rear plastic cover off the internal chassis assembly and set it aside.

   Peel tape off connector

   Use tweezers to carefully peel back the black piece of tape covering the battery ribbon cable connector.

    Disconnect battery plug

    Insert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the battery cable connector and lift straight up to disconnect it from the socket.

    Remove bracket screws

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the small screws securing the motherboard retaining bracket.

    Remove metal bracket

    Lift the small metal retention bracket off the motherboard with tweezers and place it safely aside.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol around the outer edges of the battery to weaken the underlying adhesive.

    Pry up battery

    Insert a flat plastic opening card under the bottom edge of the battery and slowly pry upward to release the glue.

    Remove old battery

    Lift the old battery out of the frame housing and set it aside for proper recycling.

    Clean adhesive residue

    Wipe the battery recessed bay with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive.

    Apply new adhesive

    Affix fresh double-sided battery adhesive strips into the recessed frame bay and peel off the protective backing.

    Install new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the frame compartment and press firmly down to lock it to the adhesive.

    Attach battery cable

    Position the battery ribbon plug directly over the motherboard socket and press firmly until it clicks in place.

    Replace metal bracket

    Set the metal motherboard bracket back into position over the top section of the board.

    Secure bracket screws

    Reinstall the Phillips #00 screws to hold the metal bracket tightly to the motherboard frame.

    Reapply connector tape

    Smooth the black protective tape back over the battery connector and surrounding motherboard components.

    Place the rear plastic casing over the tablet, aligning the camera and button cutouts accurately.
