Step-by-step

Turn Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the phone and press firmly to pop out the tray.

Heat the Rear Glass Panel
3 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover for two minutes using a heat gun or heated pad to soften the adhesive.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
5 minAttach a suction cup to the bottom rear glass, lift to create a gap, and insert an opening pick to cut through the glue.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor Cable
2 minPry open the back cover slightly from the side and use a spudger to gently pop off the fingerprint reader ribbon connector.

Unscrew the Upper Antenna Shield
3 minRemove the eleven Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic wireless charging coil frame to the motherboard housing.

Remove the Wireless Charging Pad
2 minPry up the edges of the wireless charging assembly using a plastic opening tool and lift it away from the phone.

Unscrew the Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minRemove the four Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the device.

Remove the Loudspeaker Module
2 minWedge a spudger beneath the top edge of the speaker module and lift it out to expose the lower sub-board area.

Disconnect the Battery Flex Cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Disconnect the Microphone Sub-Board Cable
2 minUnplug the daughterboard ribbon connector attached near the bottom section of the main motherboard.

Remove the Microphone Module
3 minUse tweezers to carefully pry the primary microphone sub-board out of the frame recess.

Install the New Microphone Assembly
3 minAlign the replacement microphone module into the bottom slot of the frame and press down firmly to seat it.

Reconnect Internal Cables and Reassemble
8 minPlug in the microphone flex cable, reconnect the battery, reinstall the speaker and wireless coil, and seal the back cover with fresh adhesive.
