Power Off the Galaxy S8

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole at the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then pull it out completely.

Heat the Rear Glass Panel
3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the strong adhesive underneath.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the rear glass panel. Pull up gently on the handle to create a tiny gap between the glass and frame.

Slice Rear Glass Adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around the perimeter of the phone to cut through the frame adhesive.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor Cable

2 minRemove the remaining Phillips #00 screws on the loudspeaker module at the bottom. Pry up the module and lift it out of the phone.

Disconnect Front Camera and Iris Scanner
2 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pop the front-facing camera connector and iris scanner connector off the upper logic board.

Disconnect Screen and Sensor Connectors
2 minDisconnect the display flex cable, touch panel connector, and earpiece speaker flex cable from the motherboard using your spudger.

Disconnect Coaxial Antenna Cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully pry up the red and blue coaxial antenna cables from their sockets near the bottom of the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Retaining Screw
1 minLocate and remove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the logic board near the top-center edge of the frame.

Extract the Logic Board
2 minGently pry up the bottom edge of the logic board and tilt it outward. Carefully pull the motherboard out of the frame without snagging any loose flex cables.
