Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely shut down before proceeding.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the small hole on the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat the rear glass edges
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the rear cover for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the factory adhesive underneath.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass cover near the USB-C port.

Create an opening gap
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup to create a tiny gap between the rear glass and the frame. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam.

Slice the bottom adhesive
2 minSlide the plastic pick carefully along the bottom edge of the phone to cut through the adhesive seal.

Slice the left edge adhesive
2 minSlide the pick around the bottom-left corner and up along the left side. Stop before reaching the top corner.

Slice the right edge adhesive
2 minInsert another pick into the bottom edge and slide it around the bottom-right corner and up the right side.

Slice the top adhesive
2 minCarefully slide a pick across the top edge of the device to release the remaining border adhesive.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minSlightly lift the right edge of the back cover like a book. Use a spudger to carefully unclip the short fingerprint sensor press connector from the motherboard.

Remove the old back cover
1 minLift the damaged back cover fully off the frame and set it aside.

Remove the fingerprint sensor module
3 minApply light heat to the old back cover near the camera bezel, then use tweezers or a spudger to carefully pry the fingerprint sensor module free.

Clean adhesive residue from the frame
3 minDampen a microfiber cloth with high-concentration isopropyl alcohol and wipe away old adhesive remnants along the phone frame.

Install the fingerprint sensor into the new cover
2 minPress the removed fingerprint sensor module firmly into its slot on the interior of the new back cover.

Connect the fingerprint cable to the motherboard
2 minHold the new back cover near the phone frame and snap the fingerprint sensor press connector onto the motherboard socket.

Seal the new back cover
2 minPeel off all protective adhesive backing strips from the new back cover, align it precisely with the frame, and press firmly around all edges to secure it.
