Step-by-step

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply a heat gun around the outer edges of the rear glass for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull upward firmly to create a small gap.

Insert opening pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the glass back and the frame.

Slice rear glass adhesive
4 minSlide the opening pick around the perimeter of the rear glass to slice through all adhesive bonds.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor cable
2 minSlightly lift the rear glass and use a spudger to detach the short fingerprint sensor flex cable.

Remove rear glass cover
1 minLift the rear glass completely off the chassis and set it aside on a soft surface.

Unscrew wireless charging assembly
3 minRemove the eleven Phillips #000 screws securing the upper shield and wireless charging coil.

Remove wireless charging coil
2 minGently pry up the edges of the wireless charging pad and lift the assembly out of the phone.

Unscrew loudspeaker enclosure
2 minRemove the five Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker module.

Remove loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a spudger under the speaker assembly and pry it up from the bottom of the frame.

Disconnect battery press connector
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the device and pull out the card tray.

Disconnect board flex connectors
3 minDisconnect the display, front camera, iris scanner, and headphone jack connectors from the motherboard.

Unscrew motherboard retaining screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the motherboard to the upper corner of the chassis.

Lift out logic board
3 minCarefully tilt the logic board up from the bottom end and lift it completely out of the frame.
